Laurie was born and raised in Southern California where her love and passion for education was fostered by a series of remarkable educators. She has now been engaged in education for over 15 years, starting as a school secretary. Laurie has been involved in every aspect of running and operating a school from public to private, covering all levels from elementary to post-secondary- in many regions of the country. Since settling in Idaho in 2005, Laurie helped found a charter school, which is still active and successful. In her more than 10 years in the classroom, Laurie has gone from public school classroom teaching to curriculum development, GT education coordination and Special Programs Administration. She has taught in single subject classrooms as well as stand-alone models. These experiences gave her a firm understanding of the learning process as well as helped develop her educational philosophy that values a classical approach with an emphasis on arts and language.
Laurie spent five years as the Middle School teacher at a private school. The last two years, she served as the Middle School Director while still maintaining a full teaching load.
Laurie is thrilled to see her dreams being realized. She holds two degrees in Social Sciences as well as her Private School Administrator's certificate. She is currently pursuing her MBA.
